Question
If I have mistakenly changed the status of a kanban card, can I go back?
Answer
No, KanbanBOX does not allow you to undo an incorrect status change or revert a card to a previous status.
Errors can occur for different reasons and must be managed accordingly. The corrective actions vary depending on whether the incorrect status declaration happens within an integration process between KanbanBOX and an external company system, or the system is not integrated.
If integration is not active:
- If I have mistakenly set the card in an intermediate status ("In process", "Done", or "In transit") or in the "Full" status, the simplest and most effective solution is to leave a comment on the card explaining the mistake. As activities progress, the physical flow will automatically realign with the digital situation.
-
If the card does not match the material received from the supplier and I have already declared it as "Full", it is necessary to perform the following actions:
- block the card that has the issue;
- contact the supplier (via a comment on the card or by email) and ask them to send a new container with the same card code as the one already received;
- unblock the card once the container with the correct material has been physically received.
If the material initially received is managed through another kanban loop in KanbanBOX, additional actions are required:
- create an excess kanban card for the loop of the received component, with the correct quantity and in the "Full" status. For more details, refer to the guide Create a new excess kanban;
- print the card and attach it to the container, replacing the incorrect one.
-
If the card has been mistakenly released, it is necessary to:
- print the new card generated by the release;
- set it as "Full";
- remove from the Consumption report the consumption generated by the incorrect release.
If the integration is active it is recommended to contact KanbanBOX Support to evaluate the correct procedure on a case-by-case basis.
