Technical drawings

Technical Drawings is a functionality that allows the user to have in real time the technical drawings of the kanban card part number.

How KanbanBOX can retrieve the Technical Drawings?

KanbanBOX can connect to a file repository and share the files with the company users and, if requested, with linked partners.

With this functionality a user can:

• View a PDF file directly in the browser.
• Print the PDF in the kanban label.
• Download other linked files (ex. CAD Drawings, procedures, etc).

Available repositories

KanbanBOX, based on the content of a part number field, searches the technical drawings in a repository.

Available repositories are:

• Customer FTP Folder
• Bucket Amazon S3
• Server WEB Intranet (Customer URL)
• Others

How to open the technical drawing

When opening the technical drawing associated to a part number, if there are more files linked to the part number, KanbanBOX opens only one of these files.
The technical drawing can be opened using the homepage widget or from the card pop-up.

Homepage widget

The technical drawing associated to a kanban card part number can be opened inserting the kanban card ID in an homepage widget.

Procedure:

1. Get in Home.
2. At the bottom left or right, click Edit your home page.
3. In the drop-down list on the left or on the right (choose if you want the button on the left or on the right of homepage) select the widget Open drawing.
4. Click Add widget to insert the action in homepage and then click Close to close homepage editor. Now widget is set in the homepage.
5. Once the widget is added, insert the kanban card ID to open the drawing.

Card pop-up

The technical drawing associated to a kanban card part number can be opened from the card pop-up in the kanban board.

Procedure:

1. Get in Board > Board as planner.
2. Filter the kanban card for which you need the technical drawing.
3. Click on the kanban card to open the kanban card popup.
4. Click on the icon Open drawing to open the drawing in a new window.

How to download the technical drawings

When downloading the technical drawings associated to a part number, if there are more files linked to the part number, KanbanBOX downloads all the associated files.
The technical drawings can be downloaded using the homepage widget or from the card pop-up.

Homepage widget

Technical drawings associated to a kanban card part number can be downloaded inserting the kanban card ID in an homepage widget.

Procedure:

1. Get in Home.
2. At the bottom left or right, click Edit your home page.
3. In the drop-down list on the left or on the right (choose if you want the button on the left or on the right of homepage) select the widget Download linked files.
4. Click Add widget to insert the action in homepage and then click Close to close homepage editor. Now widget is set in the homepage.
5. Once the widget is added, insert the kanban card ID to download the drawings.

Card pop-up

Technical drawings associated to a kanban card part number can be downloaded from the card pop-up in the kanban board.

Procedure:

1. Get in Board > Board as planner.
2. Filter the kanban card for which you need the technical drawing.
3. Click on the kanban card to open the kanban card popup.
4. Click on the icon Download linked files to download the drawings.

How to print the technical drawing of a part number in the kanban card

The part number technical drawing can be printed in the kanban card.

Procedure:

1. Create or modify the printing template associated to the part number kanban card as shown in the guide Create and update a template.
2. In the edit template page, select the cell where you want to insert the technical drawing.
   It is possible to enable the double-sided printing, so you can print the technical drawing in the backside of the kanban card.
   To acivate the double-sided printing, contact the KanbanBOX Support Center.
3. When the cell is selected, click on the Cell content field.
4. Type the code {drawing_image}.
5. Click on Save under Save cell field.
