Described below are the main configurations to set up.
Resource configuration
Kanban cards are sequenced within a resource. Resources have to be present in the partners Master Data.
Procedure:
- Get in Masters > Partners > Add new partner.
- Fill in the partner master data as shown in the guide Create and update a partner.
- In the Sequencer section, choose Yes in Enable the partner Sequencer.
- In the new option Automatically insert assigned card into sequence, choose:
- When card is set "Released": to sequence a kanban card within a resource when the card is set Released.
- When card is set "In Process": to sequence a kanban card within a resource when the card is set In Process.
- In the new field Frozen area, indicate (if needed) the number of kanban cards that should be frozen in the sequence of the resource. If a kanban card is then moved inside the frozen area, KanbanBOX will prompt the user with a pop-up window asking for a reason, which will then be saved in the kanban card's comments.
- Click on Save to create the new resource.
Loop configuration
To sequence kanban cards that belong to a loop within a specific resource, the resource has to be assigned to the kanban loop.
Procedure:
- Create a new kanban loop from Kanbans > New kanban or modify an existing loop from Kanbans > Active Kanban loops, clicking on Edit kanban loop.
- In the General information section, insert the Default Resource:
- If the resource has already been created and saved in the master data, click on the drop down menù or in the hand-lens icon Search and select the resource to associate to the kanban loop.
- If the resource is not present in the master data, click on Add supplier, and fill the box with required data about the new partner. Once completed click on Save.
- Click on Apply now to confirm the allocation of the resource to the kanban loop.
Every time a synchro card or kanban card that belongs to the loop is release, it is sequenced within the set resource.
If the resource is entered in a already existing loop, when the loop is updated all the current released cards not already sequenced are added in the set resource.
