In KanbanBOX, it is possible to configure one or more printers, and then direct the printing of cards to the most appropriate one. It is also possible to set a default printer for KanbanBOX different from the system default (for example, the system default printer has a print size of A4 210 x 297 mm, while the KanbanBOX default printer has a size of 95 x 60 mm).
Adding a Printer
- Go to Print > Add Printer.
- KanbanBOX will perform an initial check to verify that the QZ-Tray software is installed on the PC. See Linking with QZ-Tray.
- Fill in the fields of the form to configure the printer.

Content Resizing | Yes/No | By enabling this option, in cases where the print content is smaller than the total label width, it will automatically scale until filling the print area. |
Printer Selection Rules
The Printing Method Selection Rules allow the user to choose which printing action to use when KanbanBOX processes the printing of a card, based on certain parameters.
If no "printing method selection rule" is active, or the card you want to print does not meet the parameters of any active printing rule, the default action will be to open the PDF in a popup.

Linking with QZ-Tray
To help the user understand whether the system is working correctly or not when printing via QZ Tray, KanbanBOX checks the connection with the software in two phases.
1. Adding a Printer
When creating a new printer, KanbanBOX checks the availability of the software.
a. QZ-Tray connection check
b. QZ-Tray is installed and connected
c. QZ-Tray is not installed or cannot connect to KanbanBOX
2. Printing Process
An indicator has been added to the board that appears only when QZ Tray is actually used to launch a print, and it indicates the following states:
a. Print in launch phase
b. Error in print launch
c. Print successfully launched
The indicator automatically disappears after a certain number of seconds.
