Part number transcoding

What’s part number transcoding?

Part number transcoding allows supplier (or eventually customer linked) to match each customer part number with an own part number.

This enables supplier (or customer) to display his own part number in the kanban board.

Create a part number transcoding

Procedure:

1. In Board > Board as Supplier, select or filter the kanban loop and then click in the heading.
2. In the popup, click on Part number transcoding.

1. In the new page New part number transcoding:

   • If supplier has already created and saved part in parts master, click the magnifying glass Search and select part number that match up with this specific kanban loop.
   • If supplier hasn’t created and saved part in parts master, click Add part number, and fill the master with part number, description, unit of measure, etc. Once completed click Save.

   

2. Once selected the part, click Save. Now in the kanban board you can see the supplier part number below the customer part number.

Update a part number transcoding

Procedure:

1. In Board > Board as Supplier, select or filter the kanban loop and then click in the heading.
2. In the popup, click Part number transcoding.
3. In the new page Update part number transcoding:
   • To modify the linked part number, click Edit part number, update part number or description and then click Save.
   • To match another part number, click the magnifying glass Search and search the new part number in parts master or, in the drop-down menu, scroll up and select the empty row, then click Add part number to add a new part in parts master.
4. Once updated, click Save, and in kanban board you can see the match updated.
