What’s a bin?
In KanbanBOX bin means a generic container or receptacle that receives or holds parts quantity written in the kanban card. Here are some examples:
- Europallet: Pallet 1200x800 mm
- Box: supplier packing
- Plastic box n.1: standard plastic box 160x110x80
- Iron case: standard iron container 1200x800x800
The fields of the bin master
Field | Description |
---|---|
Bin name | Bin name (code if necessary). |
Description | Bin description. |
Image | Bin image. Maximum size 2 MB. |
Bin number | Bin identification code. With ERP integration, bin number must be the same in both software. |
Weight | Bin weight (tare). Counting kanban weight, bin weight is added to part weight per number of parts in the kanban card. |
Length | Bin length. With the other two following fields, it’s useful to estimate bin capacity for a specific part. |
Width | Bin width. |
Height | Bin height. |
Custom field 1, 2, 3 | Bin custom fields. Remember to define the field in Company settings. |
Add a new bin
Procedure:
- Get in
Masters >
Bins >
Add new bin.
- Fill the fields of master.
- Click
Save.
Update a bin
Procedure:
- Get in
Masters >
Bins >
Bins list.
- In the bin master list, search or filter the bin to update, and at the end of the row click the button
Edit bin.
- After the update, to confirm click
Save.
Delete a bin
Before deleting a bin, check if the partner is used in a kanban loop or card. Procedure:
- Get in
Masters >
Bins >
Bins list.
- In the bin master list, search or filter the bin to update, and at the end of the row click the button
Delete bin.
- To confirm the delete, click
Save.
