What’s a container?
In KanbanBOX, a container references a type of receptacle or enclosure for holding a product to store a specified quantity of parts, as indicated by the kanban card.
Here are some examples:
- Europallet: Pallet 1200x800 mm
- Box: supplier packing
- Plastic box n.1: standard plastic box 160x110x80
- Iron case: standard iron container 1200x800x800
Fields of the container master data
| Field | Description |

| Container name | Container name (code if necessary). |
| Description | Container description. |
| Image | Container image. Maximum size 2 MB. |
| Container number | Container identification code: with ERP integration, the container number must be the same both in the ERP and in KanbanBOX. |
| Weight | Tare weight of the container. The container weight and the parts weight (weight of a single part multiplied by the number of parts) are added to calculate the total kanban weight. |
| Length | Container length. In combination with the container width and height, it is used to estimate the overall container capacity. |
| Width | Container width. |
| Height | Container height. |
| Custom field 1, 2, 3 | Container custom fields. To rename these fields, go to |

Add a new container
Procedure:
- Get in
Master data >
Container >
Add new container; - Fill in the master data fields;
- Click on
Save.
Edit a container
Procedure:
- Get in
Master data >
Container >
Container list; - Search or filter for the container to edit: on the corresponding row, click on
Edit container; - Click on
Save.
Delete a container
Before deleting a container, check if the container is used in a kanban loop or for a kanban card.

Container list; - Search or filter for the container to delete: on the corresponding row, click on
Delete container; - Click on
